BEIJING, June 29 (Xinhua) — Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi told U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice that China is grateful to the quake relief aid the U.S. government and people offered.
At the beginning of their official talks in Beijing, Yang expressed appreciation for Rice’s brief trip to the quake area in China’s Sichuan province.

BANGKOK, June 27 (TNA) – A group of Thai academics has submitted a letter to the office of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) in Bangkok, urging the World Heritage Committee to defer consideration of the listing of Preah Vihear temple as a World Heritage Site as they opposed Cambodia’s unilateral move on the issue.
